So can the bug in the Outlook Mobile Update be fixed please? Or is there a setting somewhere that needs changing? I really like the SMS feature but I can only have this an the loss of correctly functioning recurring task synchronisation. In the popping out Task Recurrence dialog box, please do. Has anyone else experienced it? I'd also be interested in hearing people's experience with syncing recurring tasks in Windows Phone 7 with Exchange using the various third party solutions since task supportįollowing further testing I think I've narrowed down where the issue lies. This seems like a bug to me somewhere along the line. It works if I sync with a mailbox on an Exchange 2003 server (SP2 and based in UK/server set to GMT). I have actually seen recurring tasks sync properly between my Windows Mobile device and Exchange so I know it is possible. I should mention I've only synced with Exchange 2007 using the version of Outlook Mobile prior to 1. Non recurring tasks synced fine both ways. I did actually prefer this behaviour as I mainly mark recurring tasks complete in Outlook but I like the SMSįeature in Exchange 2010. Duplicate tasks were not created and the phone would 'catch up' with Outlook. Task as complete in Outlook it would mark it as complete on the phone. If I marked a recurring task as complete on the mobile device it wouldn't mark it as complete in Outlook. The behaviour was a bit different with Exchange 2007. I've only recently moved to Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2007.
However, I've tested it with an Exchange 2010 server in the UK and I get the same problem. I wondered if this was something to do with time zones as my hosted Exchange account server is based in the US whereas my phone is based in the UK. If I mark tasks complete on the phone they sync correctly.
If I delete the completed task in Outlook/OWA the completed task (which is marked as Active) on the phone disappears from the phone.
